The Invisible Image is a mural produced by throwing stones covered with gold leaf against a wall. On the floor, the stones remain where they landed after impact. The attempt to alter their weight through gilding—in reference to the sacred and the possibility of elevation—is cancelled by each blow. The silence of this scene, shaped by chance, still allows the sound of the impacts to be heard.
The work belongs to the collection of the Castagnino+Macro Museum in Rosario, Argentina.
