Facing the Storm explores material and concrete abstraction. It was developed as part of a research and production project during the first edition of the Casa Alberto Heredia residency programme at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A landscape covered by a storm that blurs forms. The image suspended between what is concealed and what is revealed: multiple, overflowing, displaced. An image formed in intermediate spaces, during the time between falling water and the instant it materialises as puddles, when the earth has eroded and become permeable.
The moment when certainties, clarity and specificity disappear. The storm image is made of images that fall and then remain suspended for an instant: a grisaille, a gradient of tones tending to vanish through the exhaustion of their reproduction.
