Atlas

My research takes Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas as a precedent in order to explore other ways of thinking about art and its history. Through the category of the image-stone, the atlas brings images together beyond the continuities of traditional historiography. The image-stone strikes history, opens interstices and fractures its syntheses. Reproducing, copying, displacing, grouping and regrouping are the operations of this montage.
The atlas took digital form in my doctoral dissertation, later reworked as Atlas Artes Visuales Tucumán. Memory of Image-Stones, and an analogue form in Facing the Storm, produced in 2025 during the Casa Alberto Heredia residency at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.
